WELCOME! Sketch # 1

Welcome to our very first sketch challenge. We are so happy to have you visit us and we hope you play along.

Today's Sketch is created by Michelle.

The design team creations using this sketch will be posted on Wednesday. We decided to do it this way so no one was influenced by our interpretations right off the start. It will allow you to start your own between now and then and check ours out on Wednesday.

Speaking of Design Teams we are recruiting for one! If you are interested in being on our design team please check out the tab above for more details on the Design Team call. Also, when you enter the challenge please place the letters DT after your name so we know you're interested.

Remember that your creation does NOT have to be a card, it can be absolutely anything as long as you used this sketch somehow.

Don't want to miss any posts?? Sign up for email updates from our challenge blog so you don't miss out. No worries, there will only be 3 postings per week. (see side bar for email subscription)

    New Challenge Sketch Blog

We would like to welcome you to a new challenge blog - Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

Darla and Michelle have teamed up and created this challenge blog for 2 reasons.:
    1. We wanted to challenge ourselves to try more designs
    2. We wanted to share it with you and have you join us.

Our first challenge will start on Monday, April 29th, 2013 and will close on May 5th @ 11:59pm Atlantic Standard time (10:59pm EST, 7:59pm PST).

Challenges will be weekly so there is a new sketch posted every Monday. We will choose the top 3 entries in each weeks challenge, and if you are chosen you can grab out Top 3 Blog Badge to post on your own blog.

Don't want to miss any posts?? Sign up for email updates from our challenge blog so you don't miss out. No worries, there will only be 3 postings per week. (see side bar for email subscription)
We are also looking for a Design Team, if you are interested in being a member of the Atlantic Hearts Design Team please place a DT next to your name when you enter any of our challenges. For more info on the Design Team call go here.

The guidelines for how to enter our challenges are posted here or you can access it any time by clicking the Guidelines page tab at the top of the page. We would like to point out that one thing we are doing a little differently than most is that you do NOT need to have a blog to enter our challenges!

    A little about us:

My name is Michelle, and I am still a rookie when it comes to papercrafting, though some find that hard to believe. But when I jump into something new, I jump with both feet and don't look back. I am a stay at home mother to 3 amazing children, Jaymee(9), Nicholaus(4) and Abbigail(2). I have a wonderful husband who supports my passion for papercrafting, and my new work from home business. I am an Independent Consultant with Close to My Heart and I love my new job.

My name is Darla, and I have been heavily involved in crafting since I was 5. To explain, my babysitter at the time was a professional crafter selling her goods at local markets and she gave me crafting "lessons" for birthday presents which entailed 2 days a week after school we would explore different crafting mediums, techniques etc for a month and then move onto a new type of craft. We did stamp making a few times using everything from shoe insoles to carving from erasers and linoblock. We did screen printing, flower pressing, block printing, origami and much much more. We always incorporated whatever we made into finished items which were often cards because it's something I really liked. That love for crafting has continued through my whole life and I jump around from craft to craft and medium to medium exploring new techniques along the way. I teach die cutting classes including cricut and various programs for non-cricut cutters such as silhouette studio). I am also a Close To My Heart independent consultant and love being part of such a wonderful company with great quality products, they are such a joy to use.
